Calender Poem
January, the start of new goals, of a new me.
The month of snow and sights to see.
February, Valentines day arrives.
To everyone they love them with their lives.
March is when my dad turn 50.
10 more years until hes 60.
April, a happy month to celebrate.
Michelles birthday, with lots of cake.
May is when the force is strong.
To stop the people from doing wrong.
June, the month we get out of school.
We all go home to rest in a cold pool.
July, the month that fireworks blast.
They look so great, but go by so fast.
August, when the sun shines high with glee.
We all suffer in agony.
September, the month we come back to school.
With teachers and students and lots of rules.
October, my birthday month in which I'm turning thirteen.
What spooky month to be a teen!
November, the month to set up your tree.
To watch all the lights go up with glee.
December, Christmas comes with lots of goof cheer.
With wonderful voices we love to hear.

The History of Notre Dame
The history of the Notre Dame Cathedral goes WAY back to the late 1100s, over 856 years ago. The Cathedral's foundation was laid in 1163, by Pope Alexander the 3rd. It was completed somewhere near 1250, and porches and chapels where added within 100 years after the completion. The spire was taken down in the 18th century, because of instability, but replaced in the 19th century. |
The Fire
The fire was certainly devastating for the citizens of Paris. The fire spread along quite a bit of the Cathedral, but luckily most statues and valuables were saved, because of brave people who where willing to step in and help. Luckily, most of the Cathedral has been saved. The two rectangular towers where saved from the burning catastrophe, unfortunately, the spire wasn't. The mayor of France has said he will have the Notre Dame rebuilt within five years, before the Olympics. |
The Giver Society
I believe The Giver society is not for me, after all, everyone is basically clones of one another. Groups are ordered by age, and the learning is the same. There is no favorites. Rewards are always given at the same time. Bikes are given at 9. Girls get ribbons removed the same age as they receive bikes. Each 12 year old receives a job. I feel everyone's lives are chosen for them. The children are birthed, but given away to their chosen families. when they come of age, mates are chosen for them. I would want control over my life, and chose when I get my bike and things like that. The giver society is not the society I'd like to live in.
